The generosity of individual, corporate and charitable supporters has enabled the Presteigne Festival to build up a distinguished reputation for artistic excellence, exciting programming and some of the best attendances for contemporary classical music in the United Kingdom. In order to develop further, by commissioning new works and supporting young artists, the Presteigne Festival is constantly looking for fresh sources of funding to secure a bright future.

The Joan Hughes Memorial Fund

The commissioning of new work from established composers and from emerging young talent is one of the highest priorities of the Presteigne Festival. In 2007 the Festival commissioned no fewer than fifteen new pieces; those commissions could not have been undertaken without the valuable support of our generous donors. Begun in 2007, in memory of one of the founding lights of the Presteigne Festival, the Joan Hughes Memorial Fund is in place specifically to provide funding for the commissioning of new work. Donations to this fund may be GiftAided.
