A Garland for Presteigne As a result of the outstanding success of its first performance at the 2003 Presteigne Festival, A Garland for Presteigne - a cycle of twelve songs, newly composed for the Festival's 21st Anniversary - was recorded in January 2004 by the outstanding Canadian soprano Gillian Keith accompanied by Simon Lepper. A Garland for Presteigne brought together ten composers, some with a long and deep association with the Presteigne Festival, and two (Geraint Lewis and James Francis Brown) being commissioned for the first time. They were asked to write songs that reflected aspects of the place and the festival atmosphere. The results were quite astonishing, the cycle having a clearly defined shape all its own.
