LIVERPOOL COMES TO PRESTEIGNE
Local author and Liverpudlian Nicholas Murray reads from his book So Spirited a Town: Visions and Versions of Liverpool, a record of the writers who have left their impressions of Liverpool combined with autobiographical descriptions of his own Liverpool childhood and adolescence. The book is published during the city's year as European Capital of Culture, 2008.

MESSIAEN AT EIGHTY
A twenty-year-old celebration in film of the eightieth birthday of French composer Olivier Messiaen, with music performed by the BBC Symphony Orchestra and the London Symphony Orchestra in the presence of Messiaen. Other contributors include Pierre Boulez, Paul Crossley and George Benjamin.

Francophile and Messiaen expert Roger Nichols introduces this event with film director, Barrie Gavin.
